In 1992, it moved to its present venue in the Ripley Village Hall annexe, where it meets on Tuesday evenings at 8pm. In April 1990, the Orchestra founded the Guildford Accordion Club, which meets on the third Friday of each month in the Ripley Village Hall. Since its foundation, the Orchestra has performed at many venues, including the Godalming Bandstand, Ripley Village Fair, the community play at Claremont Fan Court School, Seeability in Leatherhead, and a number of retirement and nursing homes. Mike Naido was the first Musical Director; he was followed by Pete Denman, Doug Carpenter, several others, and currently Phil Wheeler. The Orchestra is always interested in performing at new venues, and welcomes new players at any time. Video Last updated on 6th September 2008 |
